If you are watching “The Last Dance” on Netflix, you should know that the Air Jordan 5—specifically the Fire Red colorway—is one of the important colorways during Michael Jordan’s run with the Chicago Bulls. This particular colorway is memorable, as Jordan scored 69 points against the Cleaveland Cavaliers while wearing them.
Launched in 1990, the Air Jordan 5’s key feature is its 3M-laden tongue that shines when light hits it. Design-wise, Tinker Hatfield took inspiration from a World War 2 Mustang fighter jet with the shark tooth design on the midsole and is also the first Air Jordan to use a translucent midsole.
Now back in after 7 years, the Air Jordan 5 Fire Red stays true to OG form with Nike Air branding on the heel and insole and classic Nike branding on the outsole.
