Ol’ school mechanical watches are still cool AND stylish
Remember the swanky new watches Seiko introduced a few months ago? Seiko Philippines brought ALL 27 Seiko 5 Sports styles to our shores, and we’re pretty excited about it. Why? Because the Seiko 5 brand has been a staple for those who want to build their watch collections. Introduced in 1963, the Seiko 5 collection’s main goal was to bring its five key design elements—automatic movement, day-date display, significant water resistance, a recessed crown at the four o’clock position and a case and sturdy bracelet—to a wider audience at affordable prices.
For its 2019 collection, the Seiko 5 Sports makes use of a familiar SKX007 model—best known as Seiko’s Diver’s model with its rotating bezel, beefy case, and a dial that draws inspiration from the Rolex Submariner—and dress it up with different bracelet configurations, bezel and dial colors, and case finishes.
The collection is divided into five categories (to stay faithful to the Seiko 5 branding of course): Sports for casual looks, Suits for a more sophisticated vibe, Specialist for a more classy appeal, Street for those who want to make a statement, and Sense for the creative ones.
The Seiko 5 Sports start at Php 15,300 and can go as high as Php 19,000. All 27 styles are available at all authorized Seiko dealers.
