The Beard in the house!

While it may be Houston Rockets star James Harden’s third visit to Manila, this one is special as it is part of his Free to Harden tour with adidas. Harden spent two days in the Philippines, where he visited the College of Human Kinetics Gym at UP Diliman and interacted with the National Wheelchair Basketball Team and several ballers and dropped by adidas Fort to meet some of his fans. As for the main event, Harden showcased his moves and shared more about himself at SMX Convention Center MOA.

At the presscon, Harden answered a few questions on his playing style, on his off-court swag, on the evolution of the Harden line, and how adidas helps him in having freedom with the design of his sneakers. Check out the video below:

During the event, we got a preview of two other Harden Vol. 3 colorways—a War Machine and Captain Marvel-themed colorways—slated for a July 1 release.

The GR Harden Vol. 3 sneakers and the “Toxic” colorway—the exact pair Harden was rocking—was also available at the pop-up store.

If you are in for high-cut Harden sneakers, the Harden B/E 3 is the first model from the line to sport a high cut. Harden mentioned in the interview that they are also light and great for use both on and off the court.

The fans were there showing all their love for the Beard—from rocking Harden’s sneakers and jersey, raising placards calling Harden as the real MVP, to fans “wearing” beards.

Of course, the event was not complete without Harden playing a few games with some of the best ballers in the country, along with answering several fun questions from the hosts. And arguably the best part of the question and answer portion?

DJ Tony Toni: Defense or offense?

Harden: Defense.

And the crowd cheered during that moment.

It was definitely a blast to see another NBA superstar visit the Philippines. On to the next one!
