If you are following Nike as of late, they have been exploring their archives and re-release them in both GR and collab form. This trend kicked off with the Air Monarch IV (and its Martine Rose collab) and later on with the Zoom Vomero 5 (and its edgy A-Cold-Wall collab). The latest to join the resurrected legacy Nike sneaker train is the Air Max Tailwind 4, which made an appearance as an upcoming Supreme collaboration.
As a Supreme collab, it is pretty much given that one has a slim chance of copping them at retail unless you have a really good plug. No need to feel bad if you still want them: Nike will be releasing a non-collab version under its Special Project (SP) division. The chunky Air Max runner is dressed in black and sits atop a speckled white Air Max midsole that is similar to the one used in the Air Max Plus (save for the unique midfoot design).
The multiple overlays on the uppers work well in making the dominant black upper stand out, though it has to be that accent of neon green at the heel and outsole that gives this colorway of the Air Max Tailwind 4 a subtle amount of pop.
Being an SP sneaker, expect Commonwealth to have this pair in the coming weeks.
