Reimagining a classic the funky way
Just like any timeless sneaker, there are a bunch of ways you can reimagine Converse’s Chuck Taylor. For Melbourne-based brand Perks and Mini (P.A.M.), it involves giving the Chuck Taylor a second skin of sorts. Converse’s collaboration with PAM reimagined the Chuck Taylor by placing a PrimaLoft Thermal material as the outer layer of the upper, which is removable via a zipper. Unzipping it reveals a canvas slip-on Chuck 70 with a dual-branded tongue patch and gold side panel.
“Mutation is about evolution and the idea of what’s to come, what the future could be. It is not a rigid or singular way of thinking. It is an openness. We must adapt,” PAM co-foundersMisha Hollenbach and Shauna Toohey said, elaborating that classic models benefit from mutations, as long as they contemplate the future.
The Converse x PAM Chuck 70 will drop exclusively tomorrow at Commonwealth Rockwell for Php 6,190.
