They definitely scream “fuego!”

If you think the three-year-old NMD R1 is out of style, you might want to reconsider that statement. Aside from a BAPE-esque colorway, and utilitarian-inspired models, adidas will be dropping two NMD R1s with a new spin on the bred colorway.

Let’s start off with the non-Primeknit version, which is the more subtle of the two. This one gets a black Boost midsole, and has red accents on the rear EVA plugs and insoles, giving them the right amount of color pop.

The Primeknit version, on the other hand, has a black-and-red Primeknit upper, along with a black Boost midsole and EVA plugs, and a marbled bred outsole. What makes this pair unique are the printed laces and “25” lace dubrae—another gimmick from the Three Stripes to make this particular colorway stand out.

The “Bred” NMD R1 Primeknit is slated to drop on August 13, while the “Bred” NMD R1 will drop on September 6.
