Gadget Lover’s Paradise
Shopping for gadgets in Singapore has taken a bad rap lately because of all the crazy news going around about Sim Lim (Vietnamese who was screwed out of his money). However Sim Lim is not the only place where you shop for gadgets. Heck we don’t even think it’s the best place for it. If there’s one place in Singapore that offers good deals, a wide variety of products, and hard-to-find accessories, it’s Funan DigiaLife Mall! We’ve regularly gone here to almost every single time we’re in Singapore because simply put this is a gadget lover’s paradise.
Once you enter Funan you’ll immediately be overwhelmed with all the tech stores. The mall is designed so that you get a look at everything it has to offer with just one look up. There’s a center area for sales and activities. There’s only one ceiling (at the very top) which exposes all the stores lining all the floors of Funan. The first time we were here we just had to take a few seconds looking up and marveling at all the tech shops.
In Funan there’s something for everyone. If you’re looking for the latest smartphone, there are a lot of shops offering them at great prices. If you already have a smartphone and you just want accessories, there are tons of stuff to find here ranging from power banks, cases, battery kits, tempered glass screen protectors, speakers, headphones, and much more. They also have almost all of the official accessories of global brands like Sony, LG, Samsung, and even Xiaomi. I was able to buy the LG G3 Battery Kit (also known as the G3 Premium Pack) here which is a very hard-to-find accessory. My partner, Bonat, was also able to buy a highly sought after lens for his Fuji camera at a good price.
While most of the stores here are multi-branded stores (they offer a lot of brands), there are also official shops of several brands like Sony, ASUS, and Lenovo. There are also two to three Apple Premium Reseller stores where you can get your iDevice fix from. Lastly, there are a lot of speciality stores. There are shops that would delight shutterbugs (camera fans) and audiophiles (music lovers) alike.
Funan also has non-gadget stores. There are several shops that offer bags and luggage. There are a couple of nice restaurants. There’s also your usual mall offerings: convenience stores, parlors, and massage places. Suffice to say you can go here and spend an entire afternoon just walking around, looking for good deals, and then having your fill of good food and maybe even a 30-minute back rub.
If you’re in Singapore for shopping, make sure you make a stop at Funan. You definitely won’t regret it!
